Membership in Big I Connecticut makes you stronger!  The insurance industry is ever-changing. We are constantly evaluating the marketplace and industry to ensure we provide solutions to challenges your agency faces and to help you grow your business.  You don’t need to go it alone.  When you join Big I CT, you join a network of hundreds of agencies across the state.

We've always been in the lead on important regulatory and legislative issues for agents.  The team meets regularly with the Insurance Commissioner and department staff to discuss current market conditions and consumers issues. Membership in Big I CT also provides you with membership in IIABA.  There is not a stronger and well respected group advocating for you on a federal level than IIABA.  Big I Connecticut will always have your back in Connecticut and Washington, DC. 


Agency Membership
Property and Casualty independent agencies that have the legal ability to represent more than one company, properly licensed to do property, casualty and surety business in Connecticut are eligible to apply for membership with Big I CT.

Apply for Membership

As defined by our Constitution and By-Laws; Article IV, Section 1; Independent Insurance Agents of Connecticut, Inc.

The membership of this Association shall be composed of independent agencies who have the legal ability to represent more than one company, properly licensed to do property, casualty and surety business in Connecticut, who shall pay an annual fee as prescribed, who shall subscribe to the Object of this Association and the Declaration of Principles as set forth herein, and who shall be members, at their option, of the local association of insurance agents having jurisdiction in their respective home towns or cities if there be any.
 
Annual dues are based on the number of producers in an agency.  A producer is defined as a licensed full-time property and casualty salesperson.  This does not include CSR's.  To follow is a schedule of annual dues:

 6  Producer Agencies - $3,930 
2 Producer Agencies - $1,370
 7  Producer Agencies - $4,555 
3 Producer Agencies - $2,035
 8  Producer Agencies - $5,205 
4 Producer Agencies - $2,715
 9  Producer Agencies - $5,825 
5 Producer Agencies - $3,395
10+ Producer Agencies - $6,435
